Ingredients

The ingredients must be gathered before beginning to make a delicious Pizza Margherita. To:

  • Homemade pizza dough is preferable
  • New, ripe tomatoes
  • New & fresh cheese.
  • Leafy fresh basil
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Both salt and pepper
  • Optional minced garlic

Dough preparation for pizza

It would be preferable if we made our own pizza dough using flour, yeast, salt, and warm water items & mix them in a large mixing basin, and kneaded for 5-10 minutes. cover it for an hour with a clean cloth.

We can use store-bought pizza dough also for our pizza.

Prepare the tomato sauce

The homemade tomato sauce can be made while the dough is rising. To begin, blanch the tomatoes for 30 seconds or so in hot water. Take them out and chill them in ice water. Chop the tomatoes after removing the skins and seeds. Garlic cloves are minced and cooked in hot olive oil until aromatic. Add salt, pepper, and diced tomatoes. Allow the flavors to melt together by simmering the sauce on low heat for around 20 minutes. To cool, set the sauce aside.

Pizza assembly

The highest setting on our oven should be used for preheating. As the oven heats up, put a pizza stone in there if we have one. The pizza dough should be rolled out to the required thickness on a lightly dusted surface. The dough should be transferred to a parchment-lined pizza peel or baking sheet. Place a thin border of dough around the sides before spooning the tomato sauce onto it. Fresh mozzarella should be torn into small pieces and distributed equally throughout the sauce. Add some basil leaves that have been torn on top. Olive oil and salt and pepper should be sprinkled on the pizza.

Bake correctly

Now shift the pizza carefully to the preheated oven. After shifting the pizza, we need to bake it for at least 10 to 12 minutes. , During this period, we'll see the cheese has started bubbling and gently browned and the crust turns golden brown. Closely monitor so that we can avoid overcooking the pizza. Once we feel that the pizza is ready, take it out from the oven and let it be a little bit cool, cut it & serve it.

Top-up and Serve

We should serve the Pizza Margherita after cutting it into pieces. It should be hot. The mixture of melting mozzarella, sauce of sweet tomato,  and aromatic basil will give a pleasant and delightful taste.

We can use mushrooms, prosciutto, and sliced black olives to make the pizza more tasty.  For a complete dining experience, serve it with a crisp green salad or a glass of our preferred wine.
